At The Functional Wellness Clinic, we strongly advocate for using food as medicine, encouraging our community to eat organic and high-quality foods. However, we recognize that access to food—any food—is the most pressing need for many people in our community.
As the Crystal Lake Food Pantry faces a growing food insecurity crisis, the statistics are alarming:
- In 2024, the Pantry is serving 80 new families every month.
- There has been a 16% increase in the number of families seeking help this year.
- Food and cash donations have dropped by 25% in 2024.
They need our help now more than ever.
To support the Crystal Lake Food Pantry, we are excited to participate in the 2024 Community Harvest Food Drive. Our clinic will serve as a donation drop-off location until November 15th. We encourage all patients and community members to contribute and help fight hunger.

Inspired by Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and, we recognize that it’s important to meet people where they are, starting with access to basic food and progressing to more personalized and high-quality nutrition choices.
While we emphasize high-quality nutrition at our clinic, we know that during a food shortage, the priority is ensuring people have something to eat. Our clinic is also an ideal donation site for those looking to donate food for individuals with special dietary needs, such as Celiac disease, allergies, or other medically restrictive conditions.
We are honored to be part of this effort to change lives and serve those in need. No one in our community should go hungry. Join us in this mission and help us make a difference!
Together, we can solve hunger.
